Thank you Rockit Bar Valet parking dudes!

Last night I had to head downtown on the Blue Meanie to attend the going away party of a co-worker. The downtown / River North bar scene is not exactly my beat and parking there is ALWAYS interesting, to say the least. 

I really don't mind paying for parking , but I still have visions of a couple of big dudes lifting up my 225 pound scooter and quickly throwing it into the back of a truck . 

I decided to ask the Valet if it was OK for me to park curbside in front of the club since I was only going to be there for about and hour. They graciously invited me to pull my scooter up on the sidewalk and park it directly in front of the club! 

And yes, of course , I gave them a tip upon leaving. Gracias amigos !

Hello. 

I live in Chicago. 

For about as long as I can remember I have wanted to own a scooter , so ... a couple of weeks ago I bought one... a 2007 Yamaha Vino, team blue, and I couldn't be more excited. 

I am hoping to use this site as a dialogue about living as a scooter owner in the great city of Chicago. I look forward to sharing my experiences on the "Blue Meanie" out and about this summer of 2008.
